Remote Testing is where a student sits the testing at a location other than that specified by the school, and is only available to students who are living and studying interstate, overseas or a significant distance from the testing school.
The remote testing must be supervised by an independent supervisor and it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to obtain this supervisor. This may incur an extra charge which is payable directly to the supervisor or organisation involved.
To organise remote testing:
Complete the online Edutest registration which can be accessed from the link on the school's website or from the school. If more than one school is chosen, then you must complete the online registration for each school. It is the parent's/guardian's responsibility to ensure that the eligibility criteria of each individual school is met. This includes visa requirements where applicable.
Once the Edutest registration form has been completed, and no later than 3 weeks prior to the testing date for any schools to which you wish to apply, email remote@edutest.com.au. In some cases, it can take three weeks to finalise arrangements and is dependent on individual circumstances and location. It is advised that early contact is made to ensure arrangements can be made in time for the testing.
Supervision requirements will be communicated to you once remote sitting eligibility has been confirmed. Some organisations supplying supervisors require you to make an appointment three weeks prior to the testing.
It is not possible to make arrangements for remote online testing in the week leading up to the test.
The remote testing must take place within 3 days after the school's testing date.
Only registered students and the approved supervisor are allowed in the testing room. The testing will comprise multiple-choice tests and, if required, a handwritten writing task.
Remote online testing incurs an additional fee of $160, payable no later than five days prior to the school’s advertised testing date, to finalise arrangements.
